Size of the UK SRI market 


At December 31st 2005, the broad UK SRI market was over £560 billion pounds (€781 billion euros).

This figure comes from the European SRI Study 2006 published by Eurosif.

The Eurosif survey, for which UKSIF collected the UK data, used broad and core categorisations. Core SRI refers to investments with negative and positive screens. Broad SRI refers to core SRI plus engagement and integration approaches and simple exclusions.

The core UK SRI market figure was over £20 billion pounds (€30.5 billion euros).

Size of the UK institutional market for responsible investment

Based on the Eurosif figures, the UK institutional market for responsible investment was over £535 billion pounds at December 31st 2005. 

Size of the UK green and ethical investment retail market

According to figures from EIRIS, as at 31 December 2007 there was £8.9 billion invested in Britain's green and ethical funds. There are now almost 100 green and ethical funds available to UK investors. Visit www.eiris.org for further information.
