Buy Green

What does your stationery, the pens you use, the coffee you offer say about your company? If they are made from recycled materials, or fairly traded, they demonstrate that you are committed to sustainable living.

What you can do:

  • Buy recycled paper. The quality of modern recycled paper is equal to paper from virgin forest sources. Many regular office supply companies carry product lines with recycled paper (and other office supplies from recycled materials) in their catalogues. Ensure that service and maintenance warranties are not adversely affected by using recycled paper (there is no valid reason why they should be).

  • Order recycled office stationery and customised recycled products to market your services. You can find details on where to buy here.

  • Many printers are offering recycled paper as an option. It may be worth talking with your regular printer when ordering brochures, letterheads, envelopes etc.

  • Buy remanufactured toner cartridges - they are available with the same performance as new cartridges, at a lower price. The website of Cartridgeworld has further information.

  • Buy Fair Trade coffee, tea and sugar for client meetings and internal consumption. Fair Trade gives producers a price that covers the cost of production and guarantees a living income. For many Third World producers, this means the difference between a hand-to-mouth existence and being able to plan for the future. Many supermarkets now offer Fair Trade goods, including coffee, tea, sugar, cocoa etc. The Fairtrade Foundation can help with details on what products are available.
