If you do not yet have a water meter, getting one fitted could save you money. Your water supplier will charge for disposal of waste water calculated on the amount of water that has been registered by your meter, so it makes sense to make sure you only get the water you actually need.

If your toilet is pre 2001, consider installing a cistern displacement device (CDD) such as a Hippo (available from most water companies) – and putting up a sign in the loo. Ensure taps do not drip when turned off. If they do, you could fit a new washer or push-button taps that turn off automatically in washrooms. Payback is very quick.
